Open, preview and extract archives with ease
See the files inside an archive, preview a file without extracting everything, or extract all or only selected files to your phone. You can also create your own ZIP and 7z archives, with an optional password.
Easy Unzip is coming to Google Play soon.
What you can do
- Open archives by tapping them in a file manager, browser or chat app and choosing "Open with Easy Unzip", or by picking a file with Android's file picker
- Browse the files inside, preview a single file without extracting the whole archive, and extract all files or only the ones you select
- Create new ZIP or 7z archives, optionally protected with a password
- See file names accurately for ZIP files made on older Windows computers in other languages, such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean or Russian
- Hand app installer bundles (APK, APKS, XAPK and APKM) to the Easy Installer app, or open its Google Play page if it is not installed (Easy Unzip itself does not install apps)
Supported formats
- Open ZIP (including AES-encrypted), RAR and RAR5, 7z, TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ, ZST, ISO, CAB and multi-part archives
- Create ZIP and 7z archives (RAR archives can be opened, but cannot be created)
How it works
Your archives and their contents are processed only on your phone and are never uploaded, sold or shared. Easy Unzip only gets access to the file you open or pick. To read an archive, the app makes a temporary copy in its own private storage on your phone, and temporary copies and previews are deleted by the app or when you clear the app's cache or data. Extracted files and archives you create are saved in the Download/Easy Unzip folder on your phone and stay there until you delete them (on Android 7 to 9 the app asks for permission to save to that folder). Passwords you type for protected archives are used only on your phone to open or create that archive and are never stored or sent anywhere.
