Terms of Service
Effective date: 31 October 2026
These terms apply to the Easy Unzip app for Android ("the app"). It is part of InfoLife and run by Pii Mobile Limited ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. How can you use the app?
We give you a personal, non-exclusive permission (a licence) to use the app on Android devices that you own or control, for your own personal and non-commercial use. You cannot transfer this permission to anyone else, and we can cancel it as explained in these terms. Unless the law allows it, you must not copy, change, share, sell, reverse engineer, or take apart (decompile) the app. You also must not use the app in any way that breaks the law or Google Play's terms.
You are responsible for the archives and files you open, extract, and create, and you must have the right to use them. Do not use the app to copy, extract, or share files in a way that breaks their licences or the law.
2. What does the app do?
Easy Unzip lets you open archives in ZIP (including AES-encrypted), RAR and RAR5, 7z, TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ, ZST, ISO, and CAB formats, as well as multi-part archives. You can open an archive by tapping it in a file manager, browser, or chat app and choosing "Open with Easy Unzip", or by picking it with Android's file picker. The app shows the files inside, displays file names correctly for ZIP files made on older Windows computers in other languages (for example Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or Russian file names), and lets you preview a file without extracting everything. You can extract all files or only selected ones, and create ZIP or 7z archives, optionally with a password (the app can open RAR archives, but cannot create them). Extracted files and archives you create are saved on your phone in the Download/Easy Unzip folder and stay there until you delete them. App installer bundles (APK, APKS, XAPK, and APKM) can be handed to the Easy Installer app (or its Google Play page if it is not installed), as Easy Unzip itself does not install apps.
Opening files from outside sources can be risky. Easy Unzip does not check archives or the files inside them for malware. Passwords you type for protected archives are used only on your phone to open or create that archive and are never stored or sent anywhere, so we cannot recover a password if you forget it. Because archives vary in format and condition, we do not guarantee that every archive can be opened, previewed, extracted, or created.
3. Why are there ads in the app?
The app is free to use and shows a full-screen ad from our ad partners, including Google, only after an extraction or archive creation finishes, with no banner ads. These ads come from outside companies (third parties). We are not responsible for what is in the ads or for any products or services they offer. Please read our Privacy Policy to see how ad partners handle data and how to change your ad consent choices in the app's menu under Privacy settings where required.
4. How is your privacy handled?
Your archives, their contents, and any passwords you type are processed only on your phone and are never uploaded, sold, or shared. Our Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles. It is part of these terms.
5. Will the app change or update?
We may update, change, or stop offering the app or any of its features at any time. You may need to install updates to keep using the app.
6. Who owns the app?
The app, along with its name, logo, and content, belongs to us or our licensors. Third-party open source parts, including the 7-Zip engine (used under the GNU LGPL, with the unRAR licence restriction), are used under their own licence agreements, and their licence texts are in the app's About screen. Any archives or files that you open, extract, or create belong to their respective owners and are governed by their own licence agreements.
7. Are there any guarantees or warranties?
We provide the app "as is" and "as available". We make no promises or warranties of any kind, whether stated directly (express) or implied, including warranties that the app is fit for a particular purpose or does not infringe anyone else's rights. We do not promise that the app will be free of errors, that every archive can be opened, previewed, extracted, or created, or that any archive or file you open or extract is safe or free of malware.
8. What is our responsibility if something goes wrong?
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible (liable) for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses. We are also not responsible for any lost data, lost profits, or loss of use that comes from using the app, including failed extractions or archive creations, forgotten passwords, deleting archives or extracted files, or any problems caused by archives or files from other sources that you choose to open or extract. However, nothing in these terms limits any legal responsibility that cannot be limited under the law, or takes away your legal (statutory) rights as a consumer.
9. How can these terms end?
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. Temporary copies and previews in the app's private storage are deleted by the app or when you clear the app's cache or data, while extracted files and archives saved in the Download/Easy Unzip folder stay there until you delete them. We may end your permission (licence) to use the app if you break these terms.
10. Which country's laws apply?
New Zealand laws govern these terms. However, this does not take away any mandatory consumer protection rights you have under the laws of the country where you live.
11. What happens if we change these terms?
We may change these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when the latest version started. If you keep using the app after we make a change, it means you accept the new terms.
